The day started out with some getting ready photos at Laurel’s parent’s house. Unfortunately I (Alison) wasn’t able to be a part of this wedding but when I was going through the getting ready photos I cried. Full on cried. Laurel & her parents have a good & strong relationship. As parents, you can tell they took this day seriously. They were ecstatic for Laurel to be getting married, and they did not hold back tears as they presented Laurel with a bracelet as a gift. I love how much the photos captured that moment. It made me feel like I was present with them.

A couple quick photos were taken of Pat & his groomsmen before the ceremony started at Yarrow Alliance Church. After the ceremony and some family photos they headed off to a small park off the highway that had enormous willow trees and a creek surrounded by tall grasses.

After the photos they headed for a bright and cheery reception at The Secret Garden in Abbotsford. Laurel & Pat entered the reception in what seemed to be a scene from Star Wars. The reception didn’t disappoint, as it was filled with tons of intricate details to photograph and lots of colorful & delicious food. And of course our night ended with a hilarious cake smash!
