Todd and I were given the opportunity to shoot a gorgeous wedding in Kamloops, BC. We ditched our little guy with my mom and headed out a day earlier for a date night & to attend the rehearsal. The South Thompson Inn was just bursting with photo opportunities! The nice thing about venues such as these is that we can stay on the location for the entire day which means more time for photos!
The day of the wedding we got what we hoped for! It was a scorching & sunny 39 degrees Celsius! Wow! Thankfully the Inn had fabulous air conditioning that kept the bride & groom cool as they were getting ready for their big day. We started out in the morning with some photos of the bride & bridesmaids getting ready. Just outside the door, Mike was hanging out with his groomsmen in preparation for the ceremony to start.
The ceremony was beautiful. So colorful, bright and full of emotion. Michelle has such a contagious and sweet smile that showed how overjoyed she was to be marrying Mike!
After the ceremony we made our way around the grounds. The Wedding party were soooo much fun & were such troopers in the heat! After some group photos we ditched 😉 the lovely wedding party to get some photos of just the bride and groom. As soon as we arrived on our first photo location a storm started coming in. A crazy wind came through the resort, so we took full advantage and did some unique lighting shots before heading back to a more covered area for the intimate shots. Thankfully like any good Okanagan storm it passed within 10 minutes and we were able to resume taking photos for another hour or so.
Then we headed into the Inn to get some appies, visit with the guests and then we were back to Chilliwack to pickup our little man. Whew! It was a fast couple days but we enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks again Mike & Michelle!
